What we do
The future of electric vehicle batteries, AI data centers, jet engines, stainless steel, and defense and nuclear systems is dependent on critical minerals. Tanzania is home to Kabanga, one of the world’s largest high-grade undeveloped nickel sulphide deposits, with significant copper and cobalt by-product credits. Tembo Nickel, a subsidiary of Lifezone Metals Ltd. (NYSE:LZM), is working to unlock this world-class resource cleanly, responsibly, and for the benefit of Tanzania and the world.
Kabanga Nickel Project
The Kabanga Nickel Project in North-West Tanzania is one of the world’s largest high-grade undeveloped nickel sulphide deposits, located in the Ngara District of northwest Tanzania.
More than $435 million has been invested in the Kabanga Nickel Project to date.
Proven World Class Asset
The Kabanga Nickel Project’s Feasibility Study demonstrates steady cash flow generation over the project’s life. The project is planned as a modern underground mining operation using longhole stoping with paste backfill, producing 3.4 million tonnes of ore per year over an 18-year mine life. The concentrator will produce high-grade concentrate containing an estimated 902,000 tonnes of nickel, 134,000 tonnes of copper, and 69,000 tonnes of cobalt in intermediate product over the life of mine. This intermediate product will be transported approximately 340 kilometers southwest to the Kahama Multi-Metals Refinery for further processing.
